60 hours later the siege has finally ended, with at least 295 wounded and 195 dead. For three nights a small group of highly -trained Islamic militants turned Mumbai into a war zone. The militants hunted foreign hostages and killed indiscriminately.

According to Indian security officials at least a dozen attackers came into Mumbai Wednesday evening by sea in small dinghies. They were dropped off near the coast by a larger ship. Sources say other militants were pre-positioned in the city including the two five star hotels that were targeted.

One of the first targets was the Chhatrapati Shivaji railway station, where sources say two men fired automatic weapons into the massive crowds of travelers in the main hall. Leaving behind 50 bodies they continued on to Cama Hospital, a charitable hospital for children and women. It was at this location where they killed, Head of Mumbai Terror Anti-Squad, Hemant Karkare and two senior officers as they responded to the attack.
Another group struck at one of Mumbai’s finest restaurants Café Leopold. The terror continued as they hijacked a police vehicle for drive by shootings, and continued their killing sprees at their main objectives the Taj and Oberoi/Trident hotel and a Jewish centre and hostel for Israeli visitors.
A group that calling itself the ‘Deccan Mujahedeen’ said it was responsible.

The Oberoi/Trident was declared clear late Friday rescuing the trapped guest and finding 24 bodies. The historic Taj fought through the night in intense gunfire and explosions. Shortly after dawn the 3 remaining gunmen were killed by Indian commandos ending this devastating attack.

One militant is captured while 11 are confirmed dead. Out of the 295 people confirmed dead 24 were foreigners. The devastating attack has finally come to an end!

{November 29, 2008}   THE COOKIE (REAL LIFE MOMENTS)

THE COOKIE

It was snack time… I prepared cookies to munch while watching television with my lovely 7 year-old daughter and awesome 5 year-old son …

Each of us took one cookie from the plate simultaneously, biting slowly till we all finish eating at the same time ….

Until ……  there were only two cookies left on the plate…

Noticing there were only two cookies left for the three of us … my son exclaimed “Oh… only two left!!!!”

Then without further saying anything, my son grabbed one cookie and handed it over to his sister and said “This one is for you sister”.

I smiled at his sweet brotherly gesture… then he took the other cookie, cut it in half and said “Mom let’s share…..  this half is mine and the other half is yours” then handed over one half of the cookie to me …  I almost burst into tears as I said “Thank you” when I got half of my share in the cookie and he replied “You’re Welcome, Mama”. :D

FROM (BLUE SPARROW)

“Lord, grant me a giving heart that I may unconditionally share half of the blessings You have showered upon me”.

Kareena Kapoor has said that she is not ready yet to work with Abhishek Bachchan. The two had starred in ‘Refugee’, their debut film and then ‘Mein Prem Ki Deewani Hoon’. But after the fallout between elder sister Karisma and Abhi, the two never got back to sharing screen space. The two have also ignored each other when they have crossed each other’s paths in public. And now with Kareena’s career graph rising and Abhi’s career dipping, the actress, say sources, is in no mood to patch up with Junior Bachchan. May be the scene would have been different if Abhishek’s career would have taken off…
